I would like to introduce you to the newest member of our family....
Daisy Mae
We got Daisy Mae from our vet's office. She was there looking for a home. She is approximately 5-6 weeks old. She was loaded with fleas and she was born with no tail.
She is very playful. She is really brave too. She will attack your toes with all her might. She has attacked my tail more times than I can count!
She plays with the guinea pigs and they have accepted her. She has the prettiest blue eyes.
Right now, Molly Mew is really upset that ma brought home another kitten. This will take some time to work out. While Molly Mew is outside, Daisy Mae is allowed out of her room to play with all of us.
I have to say Molly Mew sure gave ma a good screaming. Ma picked Molly up to tell her it would be okay and Molly slapped ma across the face. Ma says she has a great right hook.
Molly Mew will be okay but it will take time. I love the new kitten. I get to play with it but I did bop it on the head too hard and ma said I couldn't do that. I am the big bopper. I like to bop things with my nose.
I will have to remember to be softer but I think it will be fun having another kitten around. I think Molly Mew will like her to once she gets used to her. I think her feelings are hurt right now.
Do you have multiple pets?? How did you introduce them to each other??
Do you have any tips you could pass along to me???
I would love to hear them!
congrats to you all and to Daisy Mae!! it is all about slow introductions and making sure Molly knows you still love her very much. start giving her good treats when the kitten is around so she associates good things with seeing the baby. and no bopping her on the head :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the recommendations. I will say that Molly Mew is being a turd. :D We are allowing the kitten out to play while Molly is outside hoping that will get her accustomed to the smell.
DeleteWe will try the treats.
She is just too adorable for words and I can't wait to watch her grow up!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you. Its wonderful having new life in the house.
DeleteOh my she is DARLING!! Wonder if her eyes will stay blue? What a beauty ! Wish I could help about Molly, but I have never had 2 cats at once, just a cat and a dog. Hope you visit us some time! xoxo catchatwithcarenandcody
ReplyDeleteI wonder if her eyes will stay blue too. We do visit your site but we will start commenting so you know we were there!
DeleteOh Daisy Mae you are precious BOL
ReplyDeleteLily & Edward
Thank you!
DeleteOMD Carma, that little kitten is adorable. And those blue eyes...just beautiful. Congratulations on your new addition!
ReplyDeleteThank you. We are enjoying her and hopefully Molly will soon too.
DeleteDaisy Mae is so cute. Don’t ax me about innerducing a new feline family member. I tried to kill Isabel, the cat TW tried to adopt about 4 years ago. We couldn’t keep her. Heh heh. Or as I like to say we couldn’t keep her alive.
ReplyDeleteBOL! BOL! BOL! I know its all about the introduction. That is why we are taking it slow. We know it would be hard to keep her alive if Molly Mew has anything to do with it.
DeleteBluddy hell, check them Baby Blues!!! weow!
ReplyDelete*adjusts bowtie & hairline*
WeK ;)
Congrats! She's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! She is a doll!
ReplyDeleteSqueeeee! An orange and white girl kitty! OMD she has no tail. I hope Molly comes around, but I am worried if she thinks the kitten is weaker because of no tail I hope she doesn't pick on her. I know your mom will do a great job of having you all get along! Love Dolly
ReplyDeletegreat googly moogly she is a stunner! :)
ReplyDeleteCats care about resources. If Molly Mew isn't afraid of losing out food or love or prime sleeping spots, then she should calm down. Like Random Felines said, lots of treats, lots of love and praise her for being defensive that there is another cat in the house but ask her to accept the kitten. Don't correct her for being upset, because it is natural, simply try to deflect and distract.. food, play, love.
Nice to meet you, Daisy Mae ! You're a very cute kitten ! Please forgive Molly Mew : she needs some time to adjust and accept not being the only cat in the house, but we hope you'll soon be good friends ! Purrs
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute blue eyed sweetie. Happy new family, Ms. Daisy.
